Southern Heritage Wood Products Inc. was formed in August 1999, with the merger of two companies. Owners Michael Maloy and Richard Watson have combined their extensive woodworking backgrounds to form a company committed to quality at any budget.

Mike Maloy is a third generation wood craftsman. He and his family originated in Fort Myers, FL. Their company, Southern Wood Products, specialized in custom cabinetry and wood work for country clubs, hospitals, and high end residential markets.

Richard Watson's interest in woodworking began at a very young age and, as a result, was cultivated through his educational process in which he studied furniture making, drafting, and industry. Richard received his degree in Industrial Technology and Education from Appalachian State University. He then began his career in the construction and crafting of wood products.

 

Then in September 2009, a merger between Southern Heritage Wood Products and a millwork company by the name of Liberty Wood Products placed two locally owned businesses together under one roof. The current 30,000 sq/ft Liberty Wood Products facility became the new location where they would begin to expand their production of wood products both custom and traditional for the homebuilder and contractor. Everything for new home construction, remodeling projects, or commercial applications would now be available to the customer at one location.
